This kart is capable of moving around an 8 feet by 8 feet field and adjusting its orientation by communicating with the camera system above through SPI protocol. The shooting structure mounted on the chassis is capable of shooting balls into a bucket placed 7 feet away. It also has the ability of climbing up a see-saw with an angle of 15 degrees. Tiva launchpad is the Micro-controller used in this kart to process signals from IR sensor and encoders.
Game Rules:
The field consists of an 8 feet by 8 feet square with a shooting zone(black region) and obstacle(see-saw) in the middle. The target(bucket) with IR beacon is placed 7 feet away from the shooting zone. The racing course is defined as the region circled by black tape. The race is a head-to-head contest among two or three Karts. They need to move around the racing course, passing across the obstacle at least once and making at least one shot into the bucket. A kart can only take 1 shot at the bucket per lap when the kart is fully inside the shooting zone. A race ends when one of the karts crosses the finish line after completing the required laps, crossing the see-saw and making the shot.
